Fox News Online: Biased? You decide!

Filed under: Main — me @ 06:45:02 pm

First off, my heart is out to all those who have suffered or lost loved ones as a result of the terrible bridge collapse in Minneapolis today. Words cannot describe my thinking as I read and listened to the stories of those who were there. Let's hope that those who need help get all they can, and that the authorities find a definitive reason why this happened, and take steps to ensure it never did again.

NOW... I got home today and logged into Google News to read up on this tragedy, and it was indeed the top story listed. But look at what was number two (hidden beneath the fold):

[More:]

Fox doing it again.

Odd, I thought. The other two stories would seem to indicate that Sen. Obama was discussing the Taliban, and what to do about them. Funny that - Pres. Bush has seemed to not care about them very much - could it be that Bush likes having Osama around as a convenient bogeyman to "terrize" the sheeple with? But I digress. Maybe, I thought, it was just the vagaries of the Google news-indexer, and other sites were saying much the same thing. Okay, so I clicked on the "All 436 news articles" link:

Without Fox, how would we know what to be told to think?

O RLY? So it seems (just from the headlines - it's worth reading at least a couple of the articles to get details) that Sen. Obama advocates attacking the Taliban in Pakistan if that's where they make their retreat. Funny, we're doing that already, but true to form he's honest about it unlike those who would have also advocated for secret incursions into Cambodia back when.

So what's Fox up to? Well, they've managed to smear both Obama, and the Democrats in general here. Think about it: they say Obama is being "slammed," and in the same breath hint that the Democrats are weak on "terrism" (ask Mr. Bush what "terrism" is, as I can't find it in any dictionary, but am according to him supposed to be afraid of it). Nice work, Faux. Clever, even. And truly evil. And these dirtbag fascists are going to be running the Wall Street Journal? Great...

One last note to Google: Fox is NOT news. Period. They are the propaganda arm of the Republican Party. If you need any more evidence than what's before you, then you've long-abandoned your promise to "not be evil." Dump those tools off the news index and stick them in the editorial section where they belong.

Comments, Pingbacks

  1. I've long thought Fox was only theater, not news (and this is not to slam real theater). I think you've got it right tho- it's sneaky, sly and underhanded, and most people will call us paranoid. A long ago boyfriend remarked once that even paranoids have enemies. At any rate, listeners beware, be very aware.
